I had to go to the airport very early today so I continued on and birded Loop Road, starting at Monroe Station. The road was very nice last week when Mickey and I went, but it seemed even more productive this morning.

Highlights:
King Rail (north of Gator Hook Trail)
Limpkin
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (numerous)
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (3)
Downy Woodpecker (family units)
Great Crested Flycatcher (family units)
Eastern Kingbird
Red-eyed Vireo (also far north of Sweetwater Slough)
Tufted Titmouse (family units)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (family units)
Eastern Bluebird
Brown Thrasher
4 warbler species, including Northern Parula, Pine, Prothonotary (2 singing males) and Common Yellowthroat

Lowlights:
No Barred Owl at Sweetwater Slough for 2nd consecutive trip
No Snail Kite, despite multiple stops at usual places along the Trail
