This is the only Aracari in humid and semi-humid forests in Ecuador, at least according to Ridgley. During an earlier hike I slogged through the mud and up a small hill to get pictures of one of these fellows, only to find this guy perched on a feeder at Stachatamia lodge, near Mindo. I took this picture from our car window--- one never knows when opportunity will present itself.
