Hypoluxo Scrub Natural Area is on Hypoluxo Road, 0.7 miles east of I-95(exit 60). Linda Humphries, who lives in the area, has seen scrub-jays perched on wires on the western side of the preserve, though the population in the last few years may be reduced to only one or two individuals.

I'll be the local field trip coordinator for the Plantation ABA Conference (this coming November 11-16); I included Hypoluxo Scrub in the Palm Beach itinerary (which will also include stops at Okeeheelee Nature Center and Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Wetlands) because it is the closest scrub-jay location to other stops in the itinerary. It is definitely not the best location in Palm Beach County to see scrub-jays. Jupiter Ridge and Juno Dunes Natural Areas, on US 1 in the northeast corner of the county, or around Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Martin County, are somewhat more reliable locations, but are too far away (considering traffic, mostly) to include in the aformentioned itinerary. I could be persuaded, though, to change my mind about that.
