Bill,

It can be hit and miss, but Betty Pass (a dear friend), who has the Martin house, is pretty steady. The feeders at Apache and Wren have been gone since Mr. Hogdson passed away several years ago, but further east down the same alley there is a homeowner (has boat), who is also pretty steady on putting out feed. The alley between Falcon and Plover between Lenape and Cherokee also has two feeders that friends keep full most of the time. The following Aratinga species have been seen the past few weeks: Mitred, Red-masked, White-eyed, Crimson-fronted, Red-fronted, Green and Dusky-headed along with Yellow-chevroned and Monk Parakeets. Spot-breasted Orioles are also usually around. The phone wires across Apache and Falcon usually has three species of Amazons at dusk: Orange-winged (up to 25), Red-crowned (1) and Yellow-crowned (1). If I am in the hood, I would be glad to assist anyone interested in looking for the aforementioned species. The only caveat.........it may cost you a few cool ones (Yuengling) at Woody's Bar & Grill on Ludlam Rd. and Flagler Dr., minutes from the psittacids. Many birders have slaked their thirsts and pleased their palates at this local watering hole. My e-mail address is pblifeisgood@hotmail.com Life is good.................. exotic birding in exotic places with exotic birders.
