I went up to Chicago this weekend and was treated to a mini-fallout in the "Magic Hedge" at Montrose Harbor. Warblers were abundant and singing in this native area along the lakeshore, including Blackburnian, Kentucky, Wilson's, Yellow, and Bay-Breasted. Also found several Swainson's Thrushes, R.B. Grosbeak, and lots of Balt. Orioles. Missed my target Black-billed Cuckoo, but will give it another shot later this week when I head back up there.
