If you're looking for further support, I agree that your bird is an Arctic Tern. I wouldn't worry about the tail length in this plumage, I believe that a bird in this plumage still has it's juvenile tail which is short to begin with and would obviously be quite worn by this point in time. The primaries are all the same age and no darker than the mantle, the legs are tiny, the bill is small, the carpal bar is indistinct.
Did you note the color of the secondaries in flight? That would be the clincher. But regardless, I think it's an Arctic Tern. Nice Find!
