Toe and I meet at the entrance to ENP and drove down to Flamingo together to look for the Avocets, Snail Kite and Antillean Nighthawk.

There were many Avocet getting ready to roost for the night at ECO Pond along with many other shorebirds. The water level in the pond was amazingly low, making for great shorebird habitat. I got my looks and photos and we headed to the Flamingo Visitor Center and checked the sandbar and found a few gulls and 6 Marbled Godwit. A tough bird to find so far this year. We also checked the campground along the waters edge and found many more shorebirds.

On our way out we looked for Snail Kite, but had no luck. We decided to stop at Long Pine Key to look for Antillean Nighthawk and only found a couple of Commons and to our surprise a Hooded Warbler near the Theater area. Toe and I both picked up 3 year birds and had a good time doing it.

Life is good... Right, Paul! Congrats on the Cougar!
