I arrived at Cape Florida about 4:30 and headed to the location. I ran into Elizabeth Golden and Robin Diaz on the way to the spot and was giving current information about the Bahama Mockingbirds location. It hadn't been seen since 1:30pm...
I arrived at the button-wood tree and looked around and didn't see or hear anything, so I headed north about 100 yards looking to the east in the open field for anything interesting.
I headed back to the Bahama Mockingbird spot and decided to pish... and there it was!
I took a dozen photos and wanted to get a step or two closer, as soon as I moved the mocker flew into the brush behind the button wood. I kept looking for the bird and heard it call once, no song just a "cheewee".
Rock Jetty arrived and we continued to look for the bird without success. We both left the park about 7:30pm.
