Just wanted to thank all those who sent me data for my FL trip and here is my report. At neighborhood north of Baptist Hospital and north of the canal): Bulbul on wire, 1 Spot-breasted Oriole, 3 White-crowned Pigeons, 6 Mitered Parakeet, 8 White-winged Parakeet. At Fairview Nursing Home: Mitered Parakeet, Monk Parakeet, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, 1 Dusky-headed Parakeet, 1 Orange winged Parrot, 1 Red-crowned Parrot, 1 Yellow-crowned Parrot, White-winged Dove, 2 Spot-breasted Orioles (likely nest building), and Purple Martin. Many parakeet/parrots in the open lot adjacent to the nursing home (be there early 6:30-7:30 AM)birds roosting in the trees in large numbers. Hainlin Mill Drive 216th numerous Cave Swallows; Florida City Burger King Rte 1: several Common Mynas; Dagney Johnson Botanical Key Largo: 1 Black-whiskered Vireo (singing), 1 Mangrove Cuckoo (singing), 1 White-crowned Pigeon (brief glimpse as it flew off).
Bal Harbour: 4 Northern Gannets (1 adult).

Note: It is not as easy as people say to find the White-crowned Pigeons in Key Largo. I checked many of the suggested spots (both at sunset and at dawn)and only had one brief glimpse. These birds at wary, skittish and don't sit around for you to look at. The best spot for me was in the neighborhood north across the street from the Baptist Hospital and the area just north on the other side the small canal in Kendall. One WC Pigeon was perched on the wires and provided decent looks. Two others flew right over my head and also provided good views.

Alan Strauss, Providence.
