I am not by any means a qualified birder--although I lived next to Matheson for 15 years, I never looked for any birds there but owls and raptors. If I'd seen this species before, I'd not have known it--and the cuckoo was the first I've seen as well-in the terminology I guess they're "lifers". That said, I suggest you email Brian Rapoza or John Boyd or Felipe G-who all post here and are eminently qualifed-by clicking on their highlighted names in any post they've made here-and I am sure they can give you further insights.
