Hello,
Coming back from a very nice hollyday trip in South Florida where we could see many birds and some exotics.
First, I want to thank everybody on that discussion group who answered my questions and guided me.
I read somewhere that any Short-tailed Hawk sight should be reported, and I will do so in the present message.
On the December 28th 2002, we saw a Short-tailed Hawk (dark phase) over Hollywood (First Street - near Shell Hotel).
On the December 29th 2002, we saw 6 Red-whiskered Bulbuls on Kendall (across Dendall drive near Baptist Church Hospital). What a nice bird!!!
On the December 30th, we saw another Short-tailed Hawk (light phase) over Royal Palm.
On the December 31th, we saw two more Short-tailed Hawk (dark phase) a few miles after leaving Flamingo.
On the January 2th, we saw two Chestnut-fronted Macaw in Hollywood, while three Hill Mynas were at the Baptist Church Hospital in Kendall.
On the January 3th, we saw three Black-hooded Parakeets in Hollywood while two Common Mynas were in the parking lot of the flea market at the intersection of Pembrooke and the First Street in Hallandale.
Monk Parakeets were everywere in Kendall and Hollywood.
We are wandering what is the exact status of these exotics. Are some of them countable in a Florida list?
Thank you very much to answer and we miss Florida!!!
For the night, the forecast will be -26 Celcius in Quebec City!!!
Best Regards!
CNADEAU
PS. All the exotics in Hollywood were seen near Shell Hotel.
