Here are the avian highlights from my quick run through
the Everglades National Park on April 26:
10 AM @ Paurotis Pond:
Swallow-tailed Kite
11 AM @ West Lake:
Swallow-tailed Kite
Tri-colored Heron
Roseate Tern
Noon @ Flamingo in the visitor center parking lot:
Swallow-tailed Kite
Black-Whiskered Vireo (singing)
Bronzed Cowbird
Common Ground-dove
6 PM @ Royal Palm Visitor Center:
Swallow-Tailed Kite (a pair)
Black-and-White Warbler
7 PM @ Gumbo Limbo Trail:
Barred Owl pair calling
Black-throated Blue Warbler (pair)
American Redstart (pair)
8 PM @ Long Pine Key Campground:
Chuck-will's Widow singing.
Many were sitting on the access road and could be
studied well in the car headlights.
