Once again, the Great-Blue Heron has taken up nesting by the boardwalk at Wakodahatchee. This is a splendid way to see this magnificent bird nesting, up close, with no danger to birds or the nest. A 300 mm lens makes this a "chip shot" for photographers. Sun is great for all day pictures with 7-10, and 3-6 best for shadows and contrast. Also present, but not unusual, except in their sheer numbers, blue winged teal.
Exit 81 from florida Turnpike on Atlantic Ave; east bound to Jog road; north bound about 2.5 miles to entrance. You pass a new shopping center under cosntruction just before your turn. This place is wheel chair accesible but restrooms are "portable". Also, Note Well: Atlantic off of I-95 is under construction so for "newbees" use the turnpike approach.
