4/19/07 Large white bird with blue crest marking similiar to a blue jay and blue marking down chest. Looked similiar in size to an immature egret. Short neck, smooth feathers,stout body and a fairly large wing span. My son seemed to think it has webbed feet similiar to the ducks.Short legs like a night heron. It stood on the lawn as if preying on the baby ducklings, then flew away only to spot him 20 minutes later across the street in a tree; as if preying on the ducklings. I live by Seminole Lake, but this is a bird I never seen. I tried to take a picture but it was getting dark and the bird again flew away. I have looked on every web sit I could find, but have found no bird that looks like this one.
