Spring migration exploded this morning in my backyard. First I heard Palm Warblers singing and went out to investigate. The first bird I saw was a male Hooded Warbler! Then a male Cape May appeared, followed by male Blackpoll Warbler, Parula, and Prairie Warblers. A Red-eyed Vireo made an appearance, and a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak and female Indigo Bunting perched out in the open. A Baltimore Oriole sang and one of my local S-B Orioles flew into a royal palm right next to me. What a show! It must be terrific at Barnes; hope someone can get over there.
Good birding,
Susan
