Look Jane, look and see. Oh, oh, oh! See the bobcat hunting at Wakodahatchee. See the people with cameras, binoculars and scopes watching the bobcat stalk.

Yep, that's the way it is now at one of south Palm Beaches most famous bird sites. Bobcat watchers. People just can't help it as the slinking stalk plays out before them. Here is a bobcat with no fear, doing what it is supposed to be doing. Stalking rabbits, and coots, and morehens, and whatever else. Quite a sight. yours for the looking by going to Wakodahatchee on Jog road just north of Altantic Ave in Delray.

And in other news the Great Blue is nest building at the same place it was last year. And the anhingas are joining in also. Soras are out in plain sight..rather remarkable, their comfort level. A hawk, red-shoulder or northern harrier glides past once in a while. The terns are returning. About twenty are out and about. The snipe is also there on the south boardwlk. Blue wing teal are present in great numbers and green wing teal arrived as we watched on Sunday. The duck weed is slowly disappearing and the water is clearer now.

Palm, pine, and yellow-rumped warblers are in the oaks and by the berms. Many are exceedingly habituated and available to photography at 6-15 feet. But you got to be fast as they are always in a hurry.

That's the good news. Now here is the bad news. National Geographic apparently was there for a photo shoot. So the jig will soon be up and the whole world will know about this wonderful birding place. Power walkers, and joggers will be the least of the infringements on peace and quiet....soon whole bus tours.

The standards; glossy ibis, tri-colored, little blue, and one immature little blue, are also in residence. All in all, during these great cool mornings, a fantastic place to visit and photograph or just fill out your bird-life list card.
