Well, I saw my first male indigo bunting in the yard yesterday.
He was fully colored up and of course was gone as soon as I ran out with the camera (!).
I wasted no time in bragging to friends who live in the area
and also have seen indigos and painteds in their yard.
Seems like bragging never gets you far, They called me tonite to tell me that they saw 2 male and 1 female Scarlet tanager in their yard today.
description was dead on and they had compared the birds in Sibley so were sure of what they saw.
I'm so jealous :)
