I was pleased to find a singing Black-and-white Warbler near my home this morning. Besides the usual Parula, Prairie, and C. Yellowthroat, I have recently encountered singing Yellow-throated, Black-throated Green, and Palm Warblers (many palms are now singing). I heard a song fragment yesterday that was probably a Worm-eating (one was present). Some of these were still tuning-up.
A Blue-headed Vireo hear my house has an unusual song that makes wonder if it might be a Mountain Vireo (V. s. alticola).
Some of the other warblers (thrushes too) will also sing a bit on migration. Listen for them!
