My backgarden hardwood hammock has been quiet until today, with only a few warblers. Today was different, once it stopped raining. Redstarts, ovenbird, prairie, parula, black-throated blue, and -- a new one for the garden -- prothonotary. The daily merlin was struggling upwind.
