It is the same bird. You or I or anyone else can call it what they want. I prefer Great White Heron as do many birders. I guess if someone mandates that it be called White morph Great Blue Heron we'd have to change the name of the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge in the Keys to White Morph Great Blue Heron National Wildlife Refuge -- a bit awkward as I think you'd agree! Lol.
