This morning I headed west to Tigertail Beach on Marco Island. On the way back I stopped at the former Briggs Nature Center, Eagle Lakes Park, Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk (Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park)and Kirby Storter Wayside, then drove Loop Road in Big Cypress Preserve before heading home. Tallied were the following (91 species):

Best mammal sighting: three River Otters, at Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk, entertaining visitors in front of the trail sign that says "River Otters." This is not the first time I've seen them at this spot. Are they on the park payroll?
