Is it possible that I saw 4-5 immature or female snail kites sitting about 2-3 mile apart in trees on the north side of Alligator Alley on Feb. 6? These had black or very dark bodies and were brown from the shoulders up. They certainly looked like raptors, though they were not real large (maybe osprey-sized) and they were relatively slender. I'm having a hard time believing these could have been snail kites, but since it was suggested to me by people who should know, I'm extremely curious!
