How common are sightings of Egyptian Geese in Broward County? We live in Margate....on a canal. We enjoy keeping track of the birds and other wildlife we see from out backyard. We have had a "couple" (male and female) keep us company for the last three years. The male has a bad wing and cannot fly. Occasionally an interloper arrives on the scene but is forced to leave. Today we were surprised to see what looked like two adults and six adolescents....new to us! We were under the impression that breeding was minimal at best. Are we wrong? Are the geese more common than we thought?
Also saw a Wood Stork a few weeks back....that was exciting for us!
