Its that time of year, when the lovely yardbirds migrate away and the swallowtail kites come into town to keep me excited.
To that end, I have been practically living at Royal Palm parking lot, waiting ,watching, photographing and muttering a lot when nothing is happening.
In the past week, other than sharing my spot with some fine folks from Naturescapes, I have been joined by a summer tanager and an alligator in the grass.
This morning I heard a strange sound and looked up in the Gumbo limbo tree above me to see a Common Myna.
It looked pretty confused and eventually flew off.
I guess it is a relatively short flight from the produce market roost, but it did surprise me to see it.
