A few swamphens can still be found in wetlands in the Silver Lakes section of Pembroke Pines (Broward County). The wetlands boardwalk at Southwest Regional Library is on the north side of Sheridan Street, 1.2 miles west of I-75. Silver Lakes North Park is on the south side of Sheridan Street, 0.3 miles farther west; the wetlands there extend west for another 0.5 miles.
