The original is faltering. It was sold by John Uhler the owner and the new people have their hands full with problems apparently. It has no posts. Take your news over to

Register (to avoid spammers) and take a long at Everglades PArk. We could use your photography and commentary there.

The goal is to have a responsible, responsive board with local people posting the Park and environ news so the tourists as well as locals can have up to date information on the wonders of South Floirda. It is still young but growing quickly. We will link to TAS very shortly.

Spread the news. Oh, great pictures. Let me share another idea. I learned as a youngster to whistle up the towhees. I could get them within 25 feet of my blind. I went back to that practice at LPK and sure enough it worked. I got two to come in for pictures by my photo companions Carol and Ellie. Then up pops the bluebirds followed by what I think may be a water thrush (Bill Pranty has the picture) then comes the boom boxers.

Try the towhee call next time you go there. Keep the pitch high and random. See if you don't get a call back. When you do, return the call immediately just once for each time the bird calls. I have worked quail there also the same way. By the way, the towhee call is the namesake one where the whistle goes up toe--EEEEEEEE. It helps not to eat peanut butter crackers!
