Wakodahatchee was quiet this morning with some usual sights but nothing quite out of ordinary. Reports persist that a Florida Bobcat is around the walkways and sightings are nor uncommon but limited to twilight. A northern harrier was sitting for thirty minutes but well out of photo range. The blue-winged teal babies are filling out their feathers and the little tell-tale "commas" are appearing on the male babies. Most of the moorhens and gallinule babies are now in adult plumage. Wood storks are plentiful, as are tri-color, snowy, and the great blue/pair is setting up housekeeping at the old tree site. The dominant warblers are palm, and a yellow-rumped. Blue-grey gnatcatchers were flocking all around and the obligatory alligator rolled out at 11:00 to do its dog & pony show. (Bet it wished it had a dog!)

Sora's were also well in the open this morning. Good sighting and photography. Add to that the customary hubbub of cormorants, anhingas, a solitary osprey, a gaggle of mottled ducks, and shrike in a pear tree! A good morning.
Best news, the strong east wind has pushed all the duck weed to the west side of the impound area.
