15 Ruddy Ducks were present in the lake at Windmill Park. 3 males were in various stages of getting the blue on their bills, but all were very rusty in color. Beautiful. Also a Yellow-throated warbler in the Poinciana tree near the bathrooms. At Fern Forest there was a nice collection of wintering warblers in the parking lot including Ovenbird, Northern Parula, Prairie, Black and white warblers, White-eyed & Blue-headed Vireos. It is nice to see the fruits of your labor produce so many birds, after removing 24 acres of Brazilian Pepper in that area, rewatering it and planting $70, 000 worth of plants. Windmill Park is located in Coconut, north of Atlantic Blvd. on Lyons Road about a 1/4 mile west of the Turnpike. Fern Forest is south of Atlantic Bld on Lyons Road.
