Looking for suggestions for Day Trip birding sites

I'm looking to get down to the Tamiami Trail next week and to head west towards Everglades City. I want to re-visit some of my favorite places and maybe catch a few NEW places - can you guys give some suggestions (and directions if needed) please?

Hopefully we will see something besides the usual waders (love them, but I see them regularly). Would love sites for warblers, owls, Roseate Spoonbills, uncommon woodsy birds.
