Purple Martins show up in Florida as early as December. Most of the early ones show up in January and then the numbers increase all the way into April and perhaps even later. The Florida panhandle seems to get birds earlier than South Florida which does not make sense to me. The Martin Houses by "Robert Is Here" fruit stand on the way to Everglades National Park gets them every January.
