Eagles at Fakahatchee

The pair of eagles inhabiting the nest off the Big Cypress Boardwalk at Fakahatchee Strand(who treated us to a mating display in November)have hatched at least one offspring, who is very visible with a pair of 6x or better binoculars. A scope, of course, would be ideal. The not so little bugger was displaying himself on and off today, with and without one of his parents.My hand held, undermagnified photos of junior wouldn't allow you to distinguish this infant from a parrot's offspring, but at least the photo of one of his parents rearranging some branches in the nest shows a bird recognizable as a bald eagle...
