I finally made it out birding for the first time in a good while. I wanted to locate a few target birds at Green Cay and Loxahatchee. I was successful on all but the Western Spindalis in Ft. Lauderdale at the cemetery.

It was a beautiful day! Saw all the expected subjects, but dipped on the Spindalis. I searched at the cemetery from about 12:30 to 3:00. I believe that I heard the bird twice but couldn't locate it.

There were about 50+ Yellow Rumps hanging out in the the fruiting tree near the sand pile to contend with. It wasn't easy to ignore all the activity. There were also several Catbirds, many Robins and Cedar Waxwings. I also got to watch a Coopers Hawk and a Kestrel hunt over the grounds.

Over all it was a great morning to escape work and play a while...
