Here is a good comparison of a Short-tailed Hawk and Turkey Vulture. This photo is of an immature dark morph Short-tailed Hawk from the Evergreen Cemetery in Broward County. This bird has been hanging around the area for some time. I saw it perched eating a Yellow-rumped Warbler but by the time I got my camera out it had flown...........darn it!!!! This cemetery has been very lively; as far as the birds are concerned!! There was a huge flock of Cedar Waxwings, Yellow-rumped Warblers and few vireos as well as Coopers Hawk and Sharp-shined Hawk. Bryant the word is out!!
