I once encountered a talking raven at Yellowstone. Yes, he ( or she) talked.. it was sitting in a bush and I watched it( and listened ) for about 5 minutes in disbelief..
What you don't want to get close to, though, at Yellowstone are the bison ( buffalo)..they are NOT friendly and will suddenly charge without warning ( people have been gored trying to take a picture!)
