Just go there. It isn't all that large an area and the viewable walks are somewhat centrally located. Consider that it is a wetland habitat with pens or bins of various sizes and within each are grasses, aquatics, trees etc. And within that habitat walks and flies the birds. There is also a boardwalk much like Corkscrew that meanders through a cypress hammock, or cypress head. Birds are all about and if you have Wal-mart walkie talkies you can converse with friemnds in another area. Although Loxahatchee NWR is a big place, the area open to your viewing is smaller. At any event: Also go and see Wakodahatchee on Jog Road north of Atlantic Blvd which is exit 81 Turnpike. The two places can be done in a day, unless you pass out from all the birding beauty.
