The hummer was in the small live-oak looking trees on the canal end of the grassy strip (e-w) north of the equipment area (hard to describe). It was NOT an area that I would have picked for hummers - was looking for warblers! I didn't see any flowers nearby, but the bird definitely let us know that we were in a defended territory.

The Blue-headed vireo was more centrally located, near the butterfly gardens - they were really abundant and beautiful today!

I'll keep my eye out for the fox and owl. We didn't investigate much to the north or west due to major machine noises scaring away most birds.
