After a mid-afternoon sky-diving session from Homestead Executive Airport this afternoon, my dad and I headed over to Everglades National Park. We didn't spend too much time in the park, and only went to two of the more popular trails.

Anhinga Trail was quiet, except for the usual Anhingas, cormorants, and waders.

A quick run down Gumbo Limbo produced a couple more birds:
Great-crested Flycatcher
Blue-headed Vireo
American Robin
Gray Catbird
Black-throated Green Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Summer Tanager

Cave Swallows were also seen from several locations in Homestead, including from the Turnpike. I also think I saw a Common Loon in Tropical Park on the way down to Homestead. I say I think because I did not actually go in Tropical Park. We were heading south about 55 miles an hour on the Palmetto. I guess it's worth a look though if anyone is in the area.

Also, did I mention I went sky-diving? It was an incredible late eighteenth birthday present. When descending slowly we were floating alongside Turkey Vultures, and the view was amazing. What a great life they have. Except for the fact they eat dead stuff all day.
