A very slight increase in bird activity this morning at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. At the southern end there was a small flock of birds including Blackpoll, Prairie, Palm, Yellow-rumped Warblers, American Redstart, Eastern Phoebe, House Wren and Great Crested Flycatcher. Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, redstarts and phoebes are more numerous than usual.
Closer to the harbor, along the bike path, an Eastern Wood-Pewee gave its typical fall vocalization of "chureee". It seems late for this bird, but perhaps it came in with some phoebes.
