Here are the highlights of Tropical Audubon Society's carpool trip to Everglades
National Park on Saturday, November 9:

At Lucky Hammock: Sandhill Crane, Painted and Indigo Bunting, Grasshopper
Sparrow.

At the Coe Visitor's Center: a Selasphorus hummingbird, assumed to be
Rufous, along with several Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, feeding in the
firebush outside the restrooms.

At Royal Palm: four, count em', four light-phase Short-tailed Hawks, seen
simultaneously, in a kettle of vultures (with one Broad-winged Hawk).
Also: American Bittern, King Rail (heard only), and Northern Waterthrush.

At the research center complex on Research Road: Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
and Western Kingbird.

In Flamingo: two more Short-tailed Hawks, one light, one dark-phased; Bald
Eagle, American White Pelican, and Gull-billed Tern (all seen from the visitor's
center); a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and Western Kingbird at Cabin K; Least
Bittern, Sora, and Swamp Sparrow at Eco Pond.
