The link below will take you to a large-scale map of ENP. As you drive toward Royal Palm, turn where signs indicate research centers. Follow this road ~1/2 (?) mile and turn west when road meets graded road that continues south. This stretch of E-W, then N-S paved road is called Research Road. You will pass Bill Robertson Research Center on the north and Daniel Beard Center on the south. The road ends at the old Nike missile site. This road is particulary good at dawn and dusk and passes through pinelands where reintroduced Brown-headed Nuthatches and Eastern Bluebirds are fairly easy to see. Wild Turkeys are sometimes seen in this area. Other critters: snakes, panther and bear (infrequent sightings).
