I finally managed to get out for some birding today. But first, the comet.

I ended the day on Research Road, where I finally got a look at Comet McNaught as the sun set. For those who don't know, McNaught is one of the brightest comets in the last century, and can now be seen during the day if you know where to look. I'd guess the visual magnitude is currently in the -5-6 range (brighter than Venus).

Research Road also had a White-tailed Kite. Earlier, a Brown-crested Flycatcher was in the parking lot at Flamingo. Also a Bronzed Cowbird with the starling flock. Western KB, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, and Baltimore Oriole are across the road. I had no luck with Vermilion. The Scaup is still at Eco Pond. I heard Sandhill Cranes near Paurotis Pond this morning. A lot of Robins were present near the Royal Palm turnoff around 5:15pm.
