We simply have to put a stop to this John. Hanging "chads" are not unique to Florida and Shrike should be noted as common. At Wakodahatchee you can almost tickle them under the chin. At MHOC, (our Church site) they nest right next to the church at about 10 feet off the ground. They always follow me or are about as I mow on the tractor (al la cattle egret style) to come in for the kill on disturbed crickets, etc.

What this bodes is that people need to augment the "expert's books" with conversation with the locals who somehow never get asked their opinions.

This simply ruins my whole day. It's going to take a trip to the glades to restore my spirits.
