I've only been down here for a year, but I see lots of shrikes on the wires near the ag fields near Homestead (On Epmore, Biscayne, Waldin and 217). It seems to me (just my observation) that I see more in fall and winter than in the summer...it's the same with Kestrels.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents...:)

: A couple of birds of interest in the last week in Key Largo:

: A Vesper Sparrow was hanging out with some Palm Warblers in a vacant lot near my house. A Yellow Warbler was in a mixed flock in the neighborhood just down the street from the house. I had 3 Short-tailed Hawks over the house at one time yesterday. And lastly, I've seen 4 Loggerhead Shrikes in the upper keys this last week. Pranty lists the shrikes as being quite uncommon/rare down here, anybody have an insight on this?
