My wife and I saw what we believe was a single Canvasback last weekend on the north side of the Julia Tuttle causeway in the bay between Mt Sinai and the first small island. I was going to post it but forgot. When I lived in New Jersey, we saw many every fall at the Brigantine refuge. Even though we weren't expecting it, we both said 'canvasback' as soon as we saw it. I realize birding credibility is earned and a few days have passed, but it might be worth a look.
