A cool morning began with the warmth of finally meeting the legendary "Toe" and Trey. It wasn't what you would call a planned meeting---sort of "gotta use the bathroom" at Coe Welcome station and wonder who those strange guys are hanging around in the parking lot. So, while flocks of yellow-rumped warblers hurried from mahogany to mahogany Carol, Ellie and I chatted with the two of the many stalwarts of TAS. Since we already had YR-warblers on our list we logged in "people" who watch yr-warblers. Toe, who works for a living had to leave early and the rest of us that pretend at working headed into the Park to the scolding of a wren.

Anhinga was overcast still at 8:30 and the photo-ops limited by no light and birds still puffed up keeping warm. A palm warbler, rather listlessly searched for insects by the strangler fig. No profit here, we decided so we went snake-cruising along Research Road. By the time that was over we would have settled for a deer but got only a fleeting glimpse of a bluebird. So, as the fishing guides at Flamingo do, we talked off "should have been here last week" and moved our four wheeled boat down to Flaming.
