Red-shouldered Hawk it is.
I forgot about checking for barring on the secondaries while the bird is perched. The bird didn't fly so I couldn't look for cresents and the Diamond shaped marks on breast. Also what appeared to be short legs, made me go with Broad-winged. But, once again I am wrong...
I wonder how much longer I can get away with calling myself a novice? :)
