This is my first time birding Deering, so I may be a little off. There is an avocado grove to the north of the building complex. (I'm not sure if you can get in there on your own or if you need to go with a guide. I will ask on Tuesday and post.) If you walk north through the grove, you will have a hammock to your left. When the avocado grove ends, at its northern end, there is a trail leading into the hammock. The spindalis was in the large tree on the right edge of the trail entrance. When you go in there, ask for Ernie Lent, who is the tour guide for Deering. He will know exactly where the bird was seen.

When you say you looked for "it" last Sunday, do you mean this bird at Deering or the one at Bill Baggs?

I will be communicating with Ernie to see if the bird is spotted again. Good luck,

Toe
