Folks, I just read the posting in Florida Birds:
http://www.birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/FLAB.html#1165617580
Dave Thurston, from Naples, reports seeing a Brown Creeper feeding in a slash pine on the golf course at
the Glades Country Club in East Naples (Dec 8). If you all recall, Patty Larocca reported seeing one this October 19 in Big Cypress, I believe in back of the Oasis visitor center. As Bill Pranty said:
"There may be only three accepted reports south of Lake Okeechobee, the most "recent" in 1963, according to Stevenson and Anderson (1994, The Birdlife of Florida)."
Let's keep our eyes peeled for Brown Creeper and possibly even Golden-crowned Kinglet in south Florida. Remember, by south Florida I don't mean just Miami-Dade county.
Cheers and on,
RJ
