I hadn't heard a Common Nighthawk in a while around Homestead, and thought maybe there wouldn't be another late record this year. But alas, tonight one was peenting over the house, probably on its way to those happening nighthawk hangouts, the Publix and Winn-Dixie parking lots up the road.
Other yard birds today were a Broad-winged Hawk, a light morph Short-tailed Hawk, and a Sapsucker briefly befuddled by a palm tree.
