The eared grebe is present and remains 75-100 feet off the board walk. Twice it came to the walk but on each occasion there was intermittent rain, and overcast. This is a good viewing but the bird has the gods of the elements on its side for avoiding pictures. The companion scaupas have left the grebe. (You know how fickle scaups are)

Compared to last year this time both Green Cay and Wakodahatchee are slow but still interesting. A small fall-out of warblers hit the parking lot at about 10:00 AM and there were 50-75 warblers in the trees nearest the entrance portal. Nothing unusual just lots of them and very approachable.

I never got a sighting but there was several calls that sounded like a towhee in the area of the bird feeder. That would be good news to have towhees hang out at Green Cay.
